The more I work on this project the more I regret choosing a lighthouse for my setting. While they look great and create a fantastic atmosphere, they are incredibly hard to design. Having circular rooms is difficult enough without have to also deal with spiral staircases and limited space. The increasingly narrowing shape of a lighthouse also makes creating modular wall assets almost impossible. That being said I have managed to finalize the design and have blocked out what I want to do in Maya. Now what I need to do is properly model it, which I think may be the hardest part of this whole project. At the moment I’d like to have the basic lighthouse model and texture by the 10th of November but I will have to wait and see how I get along. Here are some documents I used to help plan out the lighthouse. Since these plans I have removed the idea of multiple floors as the level was getting too cramped.
